Schroff Memorial Awards

To commemorate the memory of Late Professor M.L. Schroff, a great visionary and distinguished pharmacist who is regarded as father of Indian Pharmaceutical Education. He has been a source of immense inspiration to the hospital pharmacists. Schroff Memorial Commemoration Committee was instituted by IHPA. The activities envisaged with the fund include among others, the presentation of an award to the outstanding person among the hospital pharmacists, pharmaceutical sciences, teachers, industry, community pharmacist, regulatory authority & others for their outstanding contribution in the respective field and for all round development of the profession of pharmacy. M.L. Schroff Memorial National Award is presented every year at the inaugural dais of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress. The first Schroff Memorial National Award in the year 1975 was conferred on late Sh. B.V. Patel for his meritorious services to the professional in general and to the drug administration in particular.

K. K. Acharya Memorial Award

The IHPA instituted Late Karuna Kumar Acharya Memorial Award. Sh. K.K. Acharya perseverance for legislative regulations in the practice of pharmacy since 1935 ultimately resulting in passing of Drugs Act 1940 and Pharmacy Act 1948. He organized practicing pharmacists under the banner of Bengal Pharmaceutical Association and All Indian Pharmacists Union which had been another contribution for the welfare of pharmacists community. “K.K. Acharjee Memorial award" was instituted for the students scoring highest marks in Diploma in Pharmacy examination at national level conducted by the various Universities & Boards of Technical Education.
